Recognizing the need to restore this iconic locale, the Town of Wasaga Beach initiated a comprehensive Downtown Development Master Plan (DDMP) aimed at revitalizing the downtown and beachfront areas.

What’s in Store?

The revitalization plan is ambitious and multifaceted, focusing on several key developments:

Public Square: Envisioned as a central gathering space within Beach One, this space is designed to host both passive and active programming, primarily catering to seasonal tourist activities. This space aims to serve as an organizing element for future development, encouraging community engagement and celebrations.

Mixed-Use Developments: The plan includes the construction of over 150 residential units complemented by 31 commercial spaces. This blend of living and retail spaces is intended to foster a vibrant, walkable community where residents can enjoy amenities right at their doorstep.

Premium-Brand Hotel: A significant component of the revitalization is the construction of a premium-brand hotel near the beachfront. This establishment is expected to include a high-quality restaurant, convention facilities, fitness and spa areas, commercial shops, and wedding facilities. The hotel aims to attract year-round visitors, providing a boost to the local economy and offering residents and tourists alike a luxurious place to stay.

Infrastructure Enhancements: Upgrades to roads, pedestrian pathways, and public facilities are planned to improve accessibility and safety, ensuring that the area can comfortably accommodate increased foot traffic and events.
