A Smarter Way to Own: Primont’s New Townhomes Offer More for Less
For many Canadians, the dream of homeownership feels like it’s drifting further out of reach. Between rising interest rates, limited supply, and the growing cost of living, finding a home that checks the boxes — space, style, quality, and value — is harder than ever.
At Primont, we’ve been listening. We’ve spent the last 18 months studying how the market has changed, speaking with homebuyers, and collaborating with top consultants and design experts to better understand how we can create homes that meet today’s needs without compromising tomorrow’s dreams.
The result? A brand-new collection of modern townhome designs that are smarter, more efficient, and built for real life. Designed to help more buyers take that first step — confidently and comfortably.
We Started with the Buyer
Before designing a single floor plan, we started with one question: What do homebuyers really need?
We’ve conducted in-depth buyer research, fielded surveys across the GTA and surrounding areas, and engaged a wide range of industry experts — from planners and architects to interior designers and marketing consultants. The goal was to take a 360-degree view of the home-buying journey and identify opportunities to deliver more value.
Through this process, a few key themes emerged:
- Buyers are willing to consider slightly smaller homes — if the layout is efficient and well-designed.
- Open-concept kitchens and main floors remain a top priority.
- Storage, natural light, and flexible spaces (home office, guest room, etc.) are in high demand.
- Backyards and outdoor spaces continue to be a strong selling feature, even in townhomes.
- Smart technology is no longer a bonus — it’s expected.
“We knew we couldn’t just shrink the footprint — we had to rethink how the space works completely,” says Lore Attardo, Vice President and Principal at Primont. "Every square foot needs to earn its keep."
Townhomes Designed for Real Life
Affordability may be the challenge, but at Primont, we saw it as an opportunity — to reimagine how homes are designed, built, and lived in. The result: a new collection of townhomes that delivers more of what buyers actually want and less of what they don’t.
Smart floor plans. Functional features. Thoughtful design choices make everyday living easier — and homeownership more attainable. It’s a fresh, practical take on townhome living, built for real life right now.
The series introduces two distinct townhome styles:
- Back-to-back townhomes offer space-efficient living with a contemporary edge.
- Traditional townhomes feature private backyards and layouts that feel like a detached home.
Across both styles, we focused on maximizing flow and function — giving every square foot purpose. Back-to-back plans include balconies on multiple levels, helping to blur the line between indoor and outdoor living, while select traditional designs offer direct access to private backyards, adding even more versatility.
In total, we’re launching 10 brand-new floor plans, offering a mix of interior, end, and corner conditions — giving buyers a wide range of options based on lifestyle, layout preferences, and budget.
Key Highlights:
- Home sizes range from 1,234 sq. ft. to 1,660 sq.ft.
- 3 to 5 bedrooms and 1.5 to 3.5 bathrooms.
- Open-concept kitchens and main floors are designed for everyday living
- Optional finished basements and additional bedrooms.
- Private garages and dedicated parking.
- A variety of architectural styles — from all-brick to modern farmhouse and contemporary facades.
“It’s not about cutting back — it’s about building smarter,” says Peter DeBiasio, COO at Primont. “These homes are a direct result of listening to buyers and delivering something that meets the moment.”
The Futura Difference: Smart Home Living Comes Standard.
When we spoke to future homeowners during our research process, one message was clear: smart home technology isn’t a luxury — it’s an expectation. In a world where technology is woven into nearly every part of our daily routine, it only makes sense that our homes should keep pace — offering solutions that make life easier, safer, and more connected.
That’s exactly why every home in this new townhome series comes equipped with Futura — Primont’s smart home technology package that comes standard in every model.
Futura was designed to integrate seamlessly into everyday life. Whether it’s staying charged and connected, controlling your home's climate with a few taps, or knowing who’s at your door when you're not home — these features are built to support how we live today while staying flexible for tomorrow.
Included in the Futura package:
- Stay Charged & Connected: USB/USB-C outlets in the kitchen and each bedroom keep your devices powered up.
- Brighter, Safer Entrances: A motion-activated front door light adds peace of mind and convenience.
- Smart Temperature Control: A learning thermostat adapts to your routine and helps reduce energy costs.
- Camera Doorbell: See and speak to visitors remotely, whether you're home or away.
- EV-Ready Garages: Pre-wired with a conduit for a future electric vehicle charging station.
“Smart living shouldn’t be something you upgrade to — it should be something you start with,” says Michelle Ozimec, Vice President of Sales for Primont. “Futura is about giving our homeowners technology that supports them now and adapts with them into the future.”
By making Futura a standard feature across all homes, we’re not just delivering on what buyers want — we’re helping them feel more in control of their home, their energy use, and their everyday routines.
